How it works

Ping is the ultimate real-time hide and seek game that transforms any outdoor space into your personal game arena. Whether you are at a park, campus, neighborhood, or festival, Ping brings the classic childhood game into the digital age with GPS-powered gameplay that works anywhere.

Getting started is simple. One player creates a party and shares a six digit code with friends. Everyone joins using the code and the host customizes the game settings. When ready, the host starts the game and the countdown begins. Hiders scatter while seekers wait. Once the countdown ends, the hunt is on.

Seekers see periodic location pings from hiders on a real-time map. These pings show the approximate area where each hider was located, giving seekers clues to track them down. Hiders must stay on the move and avoid being found before time runs out.

Three exciting game modes

Ping includes multiple modes so you can choose the style of chase that fits your group.

  • Classic Mode – Traditional hide and seek. Seekers hunt for hiders and tag them when found. Tagged players are out. If any hiders remain when time expires, the hiders win. If all hiders are found, the seekers win.
  • Infection Mode – When a seeker tags a hider, that hider becomes infected and joins the seeking team. The game becomes increasingly intense as more players turn into seekers. The last hider standing wins, or if everyone gets infected, the original seeker wins.
  • Assassin Mode – A free‑for‑all where every player is both hunter and hunted. Each player receives a secret target to eliminate while avoiding their own unknown hunter. When you tag your target, you inherit their target and the chain continues. The last player standing wins.

Customizable settings

Ping gives hosts complete control over the gameplay experience.

  • Ping intervals – Adjust how often hider locations are revealed. Set them close together for fast‑paced games or spread them out for more strategic play.
  • Location fuzzing – Add uncertainty by showing seekers an approximate area rather than exact coordinates. Increase the fuzz radius for larger playing areas or decrease it for more precise hunting.
  • Ping delay – Add a delay between when pings are sent and when seekers see them, giving hiders extra time to relocate.
  • Game duration – Set games anywhere from quick 5‑minute rounds to extended multi‑day adventures.
  • Auto‑tag – Enable auto‑tag to automatically tag hiders when a seeker gets within a set distance, perfect for removing disputes. Choose between five or ten meter detection ranges.
  • Visibility options – Control who can see which pings and when, tailoring the level of information for seekers and hiders.

Play anywhere, together

Ping is built for real‑world movement. Use it on school campuses, at youth events, with friends in the neighborhood, at camps, or at large outdoor venues. As long as players have their phones and GPS, the game adapts to your space.
